Description: Join Eric, a local tri-athlete, as he rides one of his training routes - a 13 mile loop through several family orientated neighborhoods in the Scripps Ranch area of the city of San Diego in Southern California. The rolling terrain is ideal for interval type training and includes two Category 5 climbs - more than sufficient to get your heart pumping. The total elevation gain for this ride is 823ft and our target is to burn approximately 550 calories.

If using a heart rate monitor aim to stay mainly in Zone 3, extending into Zone 4 on the hill climbs. To make this a more challenging ride change your resistance mapping so most of your workout is done in Zone 4. See the Ride Fit Training Guide relating to the concept of resistance mapping. The video uses text-based workout instructions and the overlaid digital dashboard shows resistance, target cadence, perceived effort level, has a segment timer and a countdown timer.
